Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is intended for students who have an interest in science and engineering, whether or not they choose a career in one of those fields. The point of Science Olympiad is to learn some science and have some fun in the process. Events cover biology, physics, chemistry, earth science, engineering and inquiry. They range from pencil and paper tests, to performing lab experiments, to building a structure or robot.

The sponsors:

Brian Newport, physics instructor, head of the science department. Prior to teaching, Newport worked as an instructional designer for FlightSafety and as a stress engineer at Airbus.

Rod DeKoning is a math instructor with a background in computer engineering. He has 77 patents relating to various computer storage devices.
