Swimming - boys

Shelly Green, head coach

Shelly Green began coaching Trinity boys swimming in 2021. She began swimming competitively at the age of 9 and began teaching lessons at 14. Her students range from 6-month olds to elderly people and include professional tri-athletes.

Coach Green was a State swimmer in high school. She swam for a USS team for three years while in high school, then coached a USS team for three years in college. She swam for the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Her coaching resume includes working as the assistant manager in charge of swim lessons for Roland Park Aquatic Center, coaching swimming for five years at Genesis Health Clubs, and coaching swimming for five years at Classical School of Wichita.

Keeping athletes healthy is important to Coach Green. Her background as an occupational therapist and a dietary technician are helpful to teaching athletes about exercise, physiology and injuries.

β€œI believe swimming is a life-long sport. It’s my passion. I want athletes to know this is a sport they can continue long after they leave this school. I want to teach them good technique so that they can go on to swim for years to come,” says Coach Green.
