Athletics

Opportunities for all

Trinity is large enough to offer nearly every sport that KSHSAA makes available — but small enough that opportunities abound for students to get involved and try new things.

Trinity has some significant athletic advantages over big school programs. Think about it: Every school gets just one varsity basketball team with 12 – 15 players. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a school of 300 or 1,500 students. Only 12 – 15 students get to play.

At Trinity, more than 75% of the student body participates in athletics. Trinity’s size gives more students more opportunity — to compete, to learn character development, and to connect with others on and off the field.

This, too, is spiritual. We believe so strongly that athletics is a platform for instilling character like self-control and humility that we dedicate ten percent of each day’s practice to the Lord. Teams spend the time together in devotions, scripture readings, and prayer.

Winning — and character development

Each year, Trinity athletic teams and students have impressive results in local competitions and at State.

But there are more important things than winning:

     Like character development.

     And sportsmanship.

And learning to hold your tongue when the ref makes the wrong call.

Trinity coaches love a winning season, but they prioritize character and sportsmanship even more! This is why 10% of every practice time includes devotions and prayer.

Outstanding facilities

Our facilities currently include two gymnasiums; a multi-use stadium which hosts football, soccer, and track; separate baseball and softball stadiums; and a cross country course.

Trinity has been blessed with plentiful resources for the expansion and improvement of our athletic facilities: funds raised by enthusiastic Trinity families and the generous donations of local business owners.
