Q: Does the K-8 have the same in-service days and schedule as the high school?
A: Yes, though there are occasional differences.
Q: What hours is the K-8 in session?
A: 8:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Q: What time can students be dropped off in the morning?
A: Students can be dropped off at 7:45 a.m.
Q: Is there a latchkey program available?
A: Yes, extended care is available from 7 a.m. – 7:45 a.m., and from 3:45 – 6 p.m.
Q: What fees are charged for sports participation?
A: Middle school students will pay $150 per sport, up to $300 max for the year.
Q: Are textbooks included in the price of tuition?
A: Yes, textbook rental is included in K-8 tuition.
Q: Is the $125 application fee refundable if the school does not have space for my student?
A: Yes, in that case, the fee is refundable.
Q: Are kindergarten classes full-day or half-day classes?
A: Kindergarten has full-day classes.
Q: What is the age cut-off for entering kindergarten and 1st grade?
A: Kansas state law requires that children be 5 years old by August 31 for kindergarten; they must be 6 years old by August 31 to enroll in 1st grade.
Q: Do students have a recess and playground?
A: Yes, each K-5 classroom will have 30 minutes of recess each day. It may be taken in one 30-minute session, or two 15-minute sessions. Grades 6 – 8 have one 15-minute break in the morning each day.
Q: Do K-8 students have a Chapel service?
A: Yes, Chapel is an integral part of the spiritual life of Trinity Academy. Chapel services are held weekly. Most weeks, younger students have a chapel that is separate from older students.
