Randy Mijares and the Flying Angels Running Club invite middle schoolers to train for distance running all summer long. The sessions begin the first week in June and last through mid-August. Learn to decorate sugar cookies like a pro. Students will use professional decorator tools and techniques. Cost of class includes a decorator kit for the student to keep.

Julie Longhofer will guide students through simple garment construction (pajama pants, vintage apron design, or shoulder bag) using the sewing machine and serger. Students will also master basic techniques of sewing on buttons, snaps, ironing, and hemming. Parents are welcome to attend with or without their teenagers. Sewing machines will be available for shared use; bring your own machine if you have one. There will be a shopping trip from 2:15-3 p.m. at JoAnn Fabrics, N. Rock Road (just south of 37th Street).

Students will learn word processing skills and concepts using Microsoft Word. A variety of business documents will be produced including business letters, flyers, outlines and reports. Students will also learn how to create spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel. A variety of worksheets will be produced, including budgets, payroll, income statements, inventories, and charts.
Our facility is air-conditioned; therefore, appropriate attire is expected for computer classes. Casual dress is accepted; however no shorts or tank tops are allowed. There will be a one-hour lunch break so students can either bring a lunch or go out for lunch. Please note that if a student misses more than one day or two half days of class, they will not earn credit for the class. If a day or half day is missed, arrangements will need to be made with the instructor to make up the work.

Physical Education is a required course which centers on the concepts and play of team sports. Emphasis is placed on learning the skills, rules, and strategies needed to play the sport. Sportsmanship along with safety is also emphasized. Health is also a required course. Students in this course will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and a Christian perspective on health issues facing teens in the twenty-first century. In addition, students will gain an understanding on the components of a balanced nutritional diet and the major bones and muscles of the human body and an understanding of the basics of first aid. The class places an emphasis on decision making and making the right choices according to Christian living.
Students will participate in a variety of activities during the course. Modest shorts and a Trinity Academy t-shirt (no tank-tops or sandals) and tennis shoes will be the required dress.
Lunch is from 11:15 - 12:15 each day. Please note, if more than one day is missed, no credit will be earned. There will be a make-up day on Friday, June 21.
Students earn 1 high school credit.

This class is for the student who has completed Algebra I and wants to reinforce those skills before entering Geometry or Algebra II. There will be particular emphasis on the second semester Algebra 1 concepts that typically cause students difficulty, including solving and rearranging equations, slope, writing/graphing equations of lines, solving systems of equations, simplifying exponents, multiplying binomials (FOIL), reducing radical expressions and factoring.
Students are expected to take notes, work on in-class assignments and should also be prepared to complete some assignments at home. Paper, pencils, a folder and a calculator should be brought to class each day.
