Amy Bankston

Admissions director, alumni coordinator

Amy has been the admissions director for Trinity since 2002. She has a BS degree in habilitation of the deaf from Texas Christian University and previously taught hearing impaired middle school and high school students in Tulsa and Wichita.

"I love working with prospective families each year, meeting each family,developing a relationship with them, and introducing them into the Trinity family."

Walt Berry

Walt Berry is the president of Berry Companies, Inc., a construction and industrial equipment distribution business. He and his wife, Polly, have four children. The Berrys are members of Eastminster Presbyterian.

Mark Billman

Mark Billman has a BA in English literature and an M Ed in curriculum and instruction from Wichita State University. Mark came to Trinity in 2011; he began teaching English in the public schools in 1977.

Mark has been teaching since 1991.

Matt Brewer

BS in Secondary Education - Math, Calvary Bible College; MS in Education Administration, Baptist Bible College

Matt joined Trinity Academy in 2007. Before coming to Trinity, he spent two years teaching at Faith Academy International School in the Philippines. Prior to that time, he spent several years serving as principal at Kansas City Christian School, Prairie Village, Kansas.

"Trinity has been blessed with a great faculty and with great students," says Matt.

Mary Brewer

Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Algebra 1

MS in Educational Administration, Baptist Bible Graduate School: BS in Secondary Education, Calvary Bible College.

Mary previously taught at Christian schools in the Kansas City area and spent two years teaching at Faith Academy International school in Manila, Philipines. She came to Trinity in 2007.

"Psalm 111:2 says, 'Great are the works of the Lord; they are studied by all who delight in them.' I am blessed to be able to teach at a school where we can talk about God's works and see His hand in all He has made," says Mary.

Mark Brooks

Honors Algebra 2, College Algebra, Probability & Statistics

Mark has a BA in history from John Brown University, a BS in secondary education (math), and an MS in curriculum and instruction. Before coming to Trinity in 2011, he was the head of the math department and head soccer coach at Andover Central. He is married to Stephani who is a reading specialist at Central Christian Academy. Mark and Stephani have four children: Ethan, Katie, Josh and Ellie. They are members at River Community Church. Mark enjoys rooting for Arsenal, an English Premier League team, and watching his kids play the world's favorite game...soccer.

"But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord..." Philippians 3:7-8

Jill Buettgenbach

Jill has been teaching secondary computer, computer programming and business classes since 1986. She has been at Trinity since 1998.

"I love Trinity because God is the center of everything we do academically, athletically, socially, and, of course, spiritually. I can pray for and with my students, which is a tremendous blessing to me," says Jill.

Mackenzie Castle

Mackenzie has worked in the front office intermittently since 2009. She has a bachelors degree in athletic training from Wichita State University. She loves working out, and enjoys coaching and all activities associated with athletic training.

Cathy Castle

Director of Finance and Student Services

Bachelor of Business Administration, in Accounting, East Tennessee State University; Graduate of the Young Executives Institute, University of North Carolina; Master of Science in Ministry, Pepperdine University.

Cathy worked for Sprint for 24 years, directing areas such as accounting, budgeting, strategic planning and business development. A couple years after making a decision to be a “stay-at-home” mom, she began working for the Christian school in Kansas City where her children attended. She served there as the director of student services for five years.

"Trinity Academy is a great school, both academically and spiritually. The students are so respectful, and the faculty and staff are outstanding. The parents are so supportive and provide so many services to the school. What a blessing to be a part of this family!" says Cathy.

Karen Davis

College Counselor

BA in Psychology and Sociology, minor in Criminal Justice, Kansas State University.

Karen is Trinity’s full-time college counselor. She began working at Trinity in 1998. She is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC).

"I love working at Trinity....the faculty, students and parents are awesome....and there's never a boring minute...the kids keep you young! It's great being surrounded by Christians all day!" says Karen.

Sheryl Deutsch

Activities Director, Lunch Director

Sheryl has been with Trinity since its beginning. She has coached and administered basketball camps since 1983. She and her husband have three sons, all Trinity graduates.

Sheryl loves working with the kids at Trinity, serving Christ in His ministry with youth.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8,9

Renee Edwards

BA from Baylor University, French and English double major; MA in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Literature from Baker University.

Renee and her husband lived and ministered with Young Life International in Lisbon, Portugal, for three years. After moving back to Wichita, she taught senior level English three years before coming to Trinity Academy.

“My strongest impression of Trinity is that God is truly glorified in the attitudes of our students, the vision of our faculty and administration, and the culture of our school,” says Renee.

Gladys has taught high school since 1988.

"Trinity is a wonderful environment for young people to 'grow in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.' It's a true team effort between the home and the school," says Gladys.



Marie Goscha

Office Secretary

RN, BSN, University of Kansas.

Marie has worked in the Trinity office since 2006 and has been coaching Trinity volleyball since 2004. Before coming to Trinity, she worked in critical care nursing.

Marie loves being at Trinity for many reasons. "It's great to come to work and be surrounded by Christian people acting on their faith. It's an added blessing to coach volleyball," she says.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Jon Grissom

M. Div., Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; BA in Christian Education, Oral Roberts University.

Jon has prior teaching experience in pastoral ministries, is a national seminar instructor with Walk Thru the Bible Ministries of Atlanta, Georgia, and has conducted international teacher training (Russia, Estonia, Ukraine). Grissom has been at Trinity since 1994.

"I am constantly challenged to grow in my knowledge of God with the questions I'm asked by the students. They ask from perspectives I've never considered before, motivating me to seek answers not only for their growth, but for my growth as well," says Jon.

Linda has over 25 years experience as an attorney in both private and government practice. She has been at Trinity since 2001.

"When I look into the eyes of my government students, I see our future leaders, decision makers, and entrepreneurs, and I am reassured by their commitment to Christian principles, morality, and excellence that all shall be well for the future of America," says Linda.



Michelle Henderson

Concert Choir, Ladies' Ensemble, Men's Ensemble, Music Theory

MM in Choral/Church Music, Friends University; BM in Music Education, Friends University.

Michelle taught music previously for the Wichita Public Schools and for nine years at Friends University. She came to Trinity in 2004.

"I love the enthusiasm and energy of the students at Trinity. Every day is a new adventure as we continue to build the Fine Arts program together. Music was created by God, and we seek to glorify Him through all we do," says Michelle.

John Hendley

John began teaching in 2000. He came to Trinity in 2006.

"School is not just about memorizing names, dates, and formulas. Students need to be able to think and adjust when conditions change to become problem-solvers in an increasingly complex and lost world. I am excited about bringing this approach to Trinity, where the teacher's role includes developing the whole person, mentally and spiritually," says John.

Sarah Hinshaw

Sarah has a BA in elementary education from Wichita State University and an MA in curriculum and instruction from Baker University. She taught six years at a public elementary school before coming to Trinity in 2011. Sarah is married and has a daughter, Roxy.

Richard Irby

English 12, College English

MS in English, Fort Hays State University/Wichita State University; BS in Psychology and English, Fort Hays State University.

Richard has taught Senior English for more than 35 years, and has taught concurrent credit classes for Wichita State University for many years as well. He came to Trinity in 2007.

Amy Jo Johnson

Forensics

Amy Jo has a BA in English language and literature from Wichita State University. A Trinity grad, Amy Jo returned to Trinity to teach in 2012.

Susie Kempin

Susie Kempin has worked in Trinity's kitchen since 2006. She has a background in early childhood education, having attended Kansas State University and working for five years in a pre-school.

Lance Leslie

Debate

Lance has a BS in business and speech education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, an MA in Christian education from Asbury Theological Seminary, and is working toward ordination in the United Methodist Church of Kansas West. Lance is a former state champion debater from Oklahoma. He came to Trinity in 2011. He is married with five children.

Tim came to Trinity in 2002.

Darlan Mahan

Building Supervisor

Darlan has been with Trinity since 1999. Darlan has a varied work history, having been employed by USD 259 for 10 years, working for BFI, managing a service station, working at Cessna, and working in hardware at a department store.

Darlan likes the variety his daily job at Trinity brings. "It’s always different -- never the same old same old," says Darlan.

Dana Milby

Economics

BA, Economics, University of Kansas; Juris Doctorate, University of Kansas.

Dana has practiced law in Wichita for sixteen years managing her own practice focusing primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, collections, and credit management. In addition to managing her law practice, Dana has been a small business owner together with her husband, Todd. Dana joined Trinity in 2008.

Steve has been teaching and coaching since 1979. He came to Trinity in 2009. He is married to Kathy and has five children.

Tom previously taught and coached soccer in Manila, Philippines. He joined Trinity in 2007.

Pete Ochs

Pete Ochs is a founding Board member and an entrepreneur. He currently owns Trimark Signworks, Electrex, Inc. and Capital III-Investment Company. The Ochs are members of Central Christian Church, and Pete serves on the Board of Young Life.



LuAnne Posson

M Ed in Curriculum and Instruction, Wichita State University; BS in Education, Kansas State University.

LuAnne has taught since 1995; she has been in Christian education since 2001.

"It is a privilege to instruct, mentor, encourage and learn from such outstanding young adults," says LuAnne.

David Rogers

David Rogers is a partner at Foulston-Siefkin. Rogers is a trial and litigation attorney with experience in product liability and employment litigation. He and his wife, Sally, have one son, Jack. The Rogers are members of First Evangelical Free Church.



Wanda Rowe

BA in Educational Studies, Empire State College.

Wanda has been teaching in public and private schools since 1986. She came to Trinity in 2007.

Ryan Royle

Jazz Band, Band

Ryan has an AA from Dodge City Community College and a BA in music with a minor in religion and philosophy from Friends University. Ryan joined Trinity in 2011, after graduating from Friends to pursue a call to ministry in music. Passionate about God's gift of music, he continues the grand tradition of fine arts at Trinity Academy.

Tony Ryff

Northwest Nazarene University, Nampa, Idaho. Tony Ryff joined Trinity in 2011. He has served Christian schools and universities in many roles since 1982, including superintendent, principal, and teacher.



James Smith

Psychology, Advanced Psychology, Sociology

MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, Kansas State University; BA in Psychology, Park University.

Before coming to Trinity, James taught at Highland Community College in Wamego, Kansas. He has a private practice, Heritage Family Counseling Services. This is his fifth year at Trinity.

"It is an amazing and unique opportunity to teach Psychology and Sociology. I love to watch my students not simply dance around tough topics, but dive in with discernment and come up equipped with truth, thus able to face a world full of disbelief. Oh, and a laugh or two along the way never hurt," says James.

Jim Zielke

Jim Zielke is the president of Fox and Hound Restaurant Group and the president of Champps Entertainment. He and his wife Patti have three children: Jordan, Drew and Caroline. The Zielkes are members of Hope Mennonite Church.
