Co-curricular: National Honors Society
More than just an honor roll, the Trinity chapter of the National Honor Society is dedicated to serving the school and the community. Members are selected based on outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
NHS Selection Process
Students inducted into the National Honor Society are selected by a five-member faculty council. Students meeting the following criteria are invited to apply for membership by completing a Student Activity Information Form:
- Must be a junior or senior.
- Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Must have documented 25 hours of community or school service from January 1 through September 1 of the current year.
(Please contact Karen Davis at 425-5427, or send Karen an email at davisk@trinityacademy.org if you have questions about whether or not an activity qualifies for community service.)
Once these requirements are met, the council then evaluates candidates on leadership, community service, and character.
A majority vote of the Council is necessary for selection. The Faculty Council solicits input from the entire faculty to evaluate a candidate’s leadership and character.
To Apply
Sophomores and juniors who meet the cumulative 3.5 GPA requirement are encouraged to begin documenting their community service hours. Documentation forms are mailed to all sophomores in January.
NHS sponsors meet with students who meet the minimum 3.5 GPA in September of their junior/senior year.
